Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived into a musical family, 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the cousin of daughter to the singing sensation Dionne. Her first singing gig was in the choir at the church she attended The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the early years of her childhood and by the age of fifteen, she was singing back vocals professionally along with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 smash Im Every Woman. After that, she began to join the backing vocals of Lou Rawls, Jermaine, and her mother. Her work as the vocalist featured in New York funk group Material attracted the attention of several major record labels, including Arista who she signed in 1982 and continued to work for the remainder of her life. The debut Whitney Houston album was released in 1985. It was one of the top-selling albums of an artist. The album had several smash singles, including Saving the Day, All My Love for You How Are You Going to Know If You're Good to Love and The Greatest Love of All. This resulted in her having seven US Top Ones in a row. She beat even the Beatles. The album sold US 3,000,000 copies, and later increased to 25 million worldwide. The album earned her the first in her 6 Grammy Awards. The Whitney follow-up in 1987 with the singles How Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to further build upon the success of her first album. But it was, the 1992 movie The Bodyguard that solidified her position as one of the world's most well-known artist. While her movie performance and its soundtrack were not well-received however, her Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and the album accompanying it were top of the charts around the globe for months. The same year, she was married to Bobby Brown who was a previous New Edition singer. She had their only daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. They were married in the month of March, 1993. About this time her well-documented drug use started and in 1996, Bobbi Kristina Brown was using drugs daily.
Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN political reporter and anchorwoman. Her previous work included NBC, CBS and other prestigious channels. She also produces some of CNN's weekends shows like Evans & Novak Late Edition as well as Inside Politics. Bash was awarded many times and was included at the top of the Women in Washington Power List by Elle magazine.
