Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He blends jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mix. She's performed all over from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she initially began her journey as a musician, playing instruments and singing at church. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in the city's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first track to include her voice was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan The song has been remixed by numerous producers and remains a mainstay in her live show. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. She was then hired as the keyboardist principal for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of choral for the stage production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
